I've been a fan of his series since the beginning, but if this is the direction that subsequent books in the series will take, this may be the end of the line for me.Pros: Priya and Bas. PERIOD! These two were the only bright spots in the book for me, and that's saying a lot seeing as how all of the commotion Jewel caused with her incessant lying fell at their doorstep. The pages of Priya reading Jewel for shirking the responsibilities of her actions by wallowing in martyrdom were THE BEST few pages in the book. I love these two and hope that they can catch a break as the series continues.
Cons: I don't even know where to begin.... Ezra: was so insolent, reckless and obsessive in this book that I skipped quite a few pages that included his introspective thoughts about Jewel. His singular focus on rescuing her from all things sight unseen with little to no interaction with her was ridiculous.. Unlike the previous couples, these two didn't even get to know one another before he was prepared to declare his undying love for her after watching her of couple of times at the resort. Seriously? He irritated me to no end. Jewel: is the worst female character I've read about in quite a while. The audacity of this woman to feel that stealing $4 million worth of diamonds from a man while escaping from his abuse was in anyway a sign of her being a survivor was absurd. She had an ill parent and guaranteed that neither of them would ever have any peace while running around spouting that no man controlled her and she did what she had to do... Girl, bye. I don't know if it was the feminist in me or the fact that I actually know women who have survived these situations, but that whole "survivor" crap she kept spouting made me cringe inwardly each time I read it. The havoc reeked on everyone at Perryville, esp. Jacques (tear) as a direct result of her actions was unreal, and how did she respond? By constantly attempting to escape and leave the people who had knowingly harbors her for 3 years to deal with the fallout of her mess. Ugh!
I'm a fan of Ms. Arthur's work, and I'm curious to see Eli's story unfold, but I hope it isn't as cringeworthy and downright annoying as Ezra's and "Jewel the Fool".

Hunger Mate A Paranormal Shapeshifter Werejaguar Romance The Shadow Shifters A C Arthur Books Reviews
I liked the book. The story lived up to everything the previous books had and what I’d come to expect when reading this paranormal romance series. There’s action, sex, interesting dialogue, intrigue, romance and suspense.
Not surprisingly, Hunger's Mate is a great mix of action, suspense, and passion. I love the Shadow Shifters books and love Sara's story.
Ezra's journey to discovering his "real" self and accepting his past is painful, but the blossoming love and fight of his tribe adds much suspense and intrigue! The twins are an enigma - Big Alpha Males, extremely loyal and sexy!
Great book looking forward to the next one
Each shifters story is exciting from beginning to end. You are ready to read the next story as soon as possible.
Excellent excellent is all I can say. This book was so intense and hot it had my blood boiling. To say hot sex was on my mind the whole entire time is true. The characters were jumping off the pages while the fighting was intense. I can't wait for the next book A. C. Arthur did it again. Love it 💗💗 Karen
Ac Arthur takes her fans to back to Perryville Resort in Hunger’s Mate. Volunteering to go undercover, Ezra Preston, one of the lead guards for the Shifters, realized that this assignment was going to challenge him in more ways than one. Posing as an IT tech, Erza had to infiltrate Comastar Lab to gather information about a secret project that could harm the shifters. Yet, he found it difficult to focus on his assignment after bumping into the resorts manager, Jewel Jenner. Jewel has been employed at Perryville for three years and she harbored many secrets and mysteries. Jewel’s presence began to wake up things feelings and scents in Ezra that were driving him crazy. And Jewel was being drawn to him in ways he refused to acknowledge.
Hunger’s Mate starts slow and immediately heats up with the Ezra and Jewel sexual attraction. Jewel was determined to keep her secrets while Erza was forced with deciding to pursue Jewel or honor his role as a Shadow Shifter. Arthur is a master at drawing readers slowly into a story and building a climax that will have you on the edge until the very end. In addition to creating awesome erotic sex scenes that leave readers breathless. I eagerly await the next installment in this series.
